Exempted FASTag for eligible vehicles now lasts three years or five, not one

From 2 October 2026, an exempted FASTag for an eligible Divyangjan vehicle is valid for three years or five, based on the disability recorded. This is not a free tag for every car.

CAFE III is notified: from April 2027 an electric car counts three times

The power ministry has notified CAFE III for passenger vehicles made or imported from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2032. Battery electric cars get a 3x credit. It does not change the price you pay this month.

Mumbai CNG is ₹89 a kg from 1 October

Mahanagar Gas raised CNG by ₹1 a kg on 1 October 2026. The new rate is ₹89 a kg. The company linked it to costlier domestic gas and imported LNG, and said about 12.93 lakh vehicles are affected.

Delhi will not sell fuel without a valid PUC from 1 October. The fine is ₹10,000

From 1 October 2026, Delhi pumps are refusing petrol, diesel, CNG and LPG to vehicles without a valid pollution certificate. Driving without one can draw a ₹10,000 fine. This rule is Delhi’s, not Mumbai’s.
